LOMPOC POLICE DEPARTMENT DUI CHECKPOINT RESULTS
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY- December 14th, 2008
The Lompoc Police Department is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through both enforcement and education. On Sunday 12-14-08 the Lompoc Police Department conducted a DUI / Drivers License checkpoint in the 600 block of North H Street. The purpose of the checkpoint was not only to detect and arrest drivers under the influence of alcohol / drugs, but also locate drivers whose licenses were suspended, as well as remind everyone of the dangers of impaired driving.
The following charges/arrests were made during the checkpoint:
Driving without a valid drivers license 1
Driving on a suspended license 4
Drivers evaluated for sobriety 7
Vehicles towed for a 30-day hold 5
Vehicles forfeited 0
Vehicles passing thru the checkpoint 350
Lying to a police officer arrest 0
D.U.I. drivers 1
Other miscellaneous arrests 1
Funding for this DUI checkpoint and educational material was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
