LOMPOC P.D. DUI CHECKPOINT RESULTS

LOMPOC- July 17th, 2009

The Lompoc Police Department is dedicated to keeping our roadways safe through both enforcement and education.  On Friday July 17, 2009 the Lompoc Police Department conducted a DUI / Drivers License checkpoint in the 600 block of East Central Avenue. The purpose of the checkpoint was not only to detect and arrest drivers under the influence of alcohol / drugs, but also locate drivers who were unlicensed, as well as remind everyone of the dangers of impaired driving. 

 

The following charges/arrests were made during the checkpoint:

 

Driving without a drivers license arrest                     4           

Driving on a suspended license arrest                        3                         

Drivers evaluated for sobriety (D.U.I)                       6

Vehicles impounded/towed for a 30-day hold             7

Vehicles impounded/towed for a 1-day hold               1                         

Vehicles passing thru the checkpoint                      1250

Warrant arrest                                                              0

Miscellaneous citations                                               4

 

 Funding for this DUI checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
