Police, Deputies Have Made 46 Arrests So Far

Police and deputies in Santa Barbara County have made 46 DUI arrests so far in Avoid the 12’s Memorial Day weekend crackdown.
“We are in line to make more arrests than the 51 we made during the same holiday last year” said Deputy Win Smith of the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Dept., campaign coordinator.
The four-day enforcement push ends at midnight tonight. California Highway Patrol freeway saturation will continue until then.
Avoid the 12 joins 41 similar countywide DUI crackdowns in California. They cover 98 percent of the state’s population. All are funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
