The Lompoc Police Department conducted a DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint on Friday May 14, 2010 as part of Lompoc’s commitment to public safety. This checkpoint was one of many that have been or will be conducted throughout the year in Lompoc. The location of the checkpoint was in the 300 block of north “A” Street for both north & south bound traffic. The goal of the DUI Checkpoint was removing impaired drivers and to bring awareness to the public of the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol.

Driving without a drivers license 1
Driving on a suspended license 1
Drivers evaluated for D.U.I 16 (they had been drinking but under the legal limit)
Vehicles towed for a 30-day hold 2
Vehicles passing thru the checkpoint 225
Miscellaneous traffic stops 27
The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Report Drunk Drivers – Call 9-1-1!
