Three DUI Arrests, Six Towed Cars in Avoid The 12 Cinco De Mayo DUI Patrols in Orcutt, Guadalupe

A man who had been drinking in San Luis Obispo and was trying to get home to Santa Barbara on back roads was stopped for speeding by Avoid the 12 DUI task force members and arrested for DUI last night, May 5.
He was one of three in handcuffs after officers and deputies stopped 22 cars in evening patrols around Guadalupe and Orcutt, said Sheriff’s Deputy Win Smith, campaign coordinator.
The team cited six drivers for being improperly licensed, and towed their cars for a 30-day impound.
Avoid the 12 is funded by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. DUI officers will be out again over the long Memorial Day weekend.
